Zelf heb ik Huub tien jaar geleden voor het laatst gesproken en toen vertelde hij mij dat hij totaal niet meer met de muziek van het Radi Ensemble bezig was.

Beste Walter,

Natuurlijk mag je mij altijd mailen. Het is alweer een ruim tien jaar geleden dat ik bij Huub ben geweest en ik denk dat hij nog wel in leven zal zijn alleen is hij nu wel ruim in de 80.
Ik heb later nog wel eens geprobeerd om contact met hem op te nemen, dit werd helaas niet gewaardeerd.

Ik neem aan dat dat was in Zelzate in Belgisch West-Vlaanderen. Ik herken me in heel veel wat je verteld. Ik kan je zeggen, Het Radi Ensemble is mijn favoriete orkest nummer een. Ik ben vroeger toen de band nog actief was nog naar ’n optreden geweest In Molenbeersel. Het was er zo druk dat ik moeite heb gehad om binnen te geraken. Ik heb net als jij het geluk gehad om Johan (Huub) Hennissen te mogen bezoeken. Dat was in Zelzate, in Januari 2002. Ik had net zo lang in en rond Thorn mensen opgebeld met de naam Hennissen, totdat ik ’n broer van Huub aan de telefoon had. Daar had ik het adres van de zanger/bassist van het Radi Ensemble van gekregen. Ik wilde Huub niet bellen omdat ik bang was dan nee te krijgen op mijn verzoek om hem te komen opzoeken. Per brief meende ik meer kans te hebben. Dat klopte ook want Huub vertelde mij dat de inhoud hem erg had getroffen en dat hij daardoor mij had uitgenodigd. Ik was om 13.00 uur daar en ben om 18.00 uur pas vertrokken met ’n schat aan informatie over Het Radi Ensemble. Ik wilde hem niet zo lang lastig vallen maar telkens zei Huub dat dat niet het geval was en dat hij met mij ervaringen uitwisselen ook prettig vond. Ik had ook 16 jaar deel uitgemaakt van ’n amateurorkest. De 5 uren dat ik daar was zijn omgevlogen. Huub heeft mij ontzettend veel verteld over de band Het Radi Ensemble, De Telstar studio, Johnny Hoes en de verrassende reden van stoppen van het succesvolle orkest Het Radi Ensemble. Het was onnodig en jammer voor mij als heel grote fan. Inmiddels zijn zeker 4 bandleden overleden. Alleen Huub Hennissen nog niet voor zover ik weet, klopt dat? Als je mij jouw mailadres stuurt dan zal ik je nog wel wat extra informatie doorgeven die ik toen van Huub heb gekregen.

Klopt was Hofstad, die had ze ergens in opslag te staan.
Ooit had ik ook zo’n (kleine) Harrie (R&S) zender…
Maar de naam Harrie is gekozen, omdat minister ‘Harrie van Doorn’ de Anti Zeezender Wet er door heeft gedrukt!!
Zo is die naam toen aan die Duitse FM-zenders gegeven.
Niet alleen Radio Hofstad gebruike ze, zeg maar heel veel muziek stations in heel Nederland….
Het waren ‘afgekeurde’ Duitse omroepzenders, die na zoveel jaar vervangen werden.
Stekker er in, antenne er aan en draaien maar.
